Instead if simply boiling my veggies I steam them. It is actually rare for me NOT to stam the sides I consume. My corn on the cob and rice get the most time in my regular pots. Steaming helps lock in the nutrients and flavor. It is a great microwave replacement. As a green living enthusiast with down sizing our living space we opted out of replacing our microwave. I have found using my steamer a great way to reheat food that lasts longer and tastes better than using a microwave. I love getting STEAMY!
