"Glitter, who names their child, Glitter?" Dana rolled her eyes again. She turned to smile at Keisha and laugh.
"They didn't that is the name she was given when she went to work for D.R.E.A.M. gang," Akiva said.
Dana's head snapped around. "D.R.E.A.M. as in Big D.'s gang?"
"So what else do I need to know about this Glitter?" Dana gave Akiva her full attention.
"Glitter's information will come to you as we receive it. We have people on the inside and everywhere on Earth. I'm giving you the rest of your weapons and your call signal."
Akiva walked over to a small waist high table. He pulled the sheet from it. A beautiful diamond butterfly pendant and several small serrated daggers glistened as the cloth fell to the ground.
Dana walked over to the table. Her hand passed over each piece. "Sweet."
Akiva picked up the small daggers and placed them in a wide band of gold on each of Dana's pants. Eight small daggers lined each side of her body. He unhooked the necklace and placed it around her delicate neck. Next to where her necklace lay were four more identical necklaces. "If you need help from us in the spirit realm while you're searching for Glitter press the diamond when you need information rub one of the wings. We'll give you a download. Your sisters will all work with you in the office, but right now, you're the only one ready for battle training. At night they'll be here training to join you for the next charge."
"A download." Dana touched the beautiful ornament.
"You'll have jobs during the daylight hours that will require more information and knowledge than you acquired while on Earth. We'll make up the difference, just rub the wings. When you need help in the spirit realm, press the diamond, Dara. We will be there before you have a chance to blink. The realm you're fighting in has imps and other lower level demons. They aren't indestructible, but they roam in packs. Call for help when you need it. Don't try to be a hero. You're a mercenary. Your mission is to search for Glitter, rescue her body during daylight first and soul in the spiritual realm and destroy anything that gets in your way and their tie to her."
Dana stared at Akiva. She patted the flail on her hip.
"Dara, did you hear me. Do you know your mission?" Akiva looked at the other girls.
They all nodded.
"I understand, Akiva. My charges name is Glitter. My mission is simple. Search. Rescue. Destroy."
Dana strolled into the common area as if she hadn't killed four demons in the last twelve hours. Her sisters ran up to her. "Hey, guys."
Keshia smiled. "You stink like them. Please go to the purging chamber so we can talk. Akiva said we are to meet with him when you returned."
"Great, cause that is what I need, I'd much rather get to Earth and kick some demon ass, or better yet Big D's ass." Dana shrugged. She made her way toward a marble door. "I'll be back."
The smell of eucalyptus and mint filled Dana's nostrils as she walked into the large room. Brilliant white steam billowed over a table. Dana pulled her sword harness, flails and ivory colored spattered with green slime from her feet. She placed them in a box and covered it with the sheet, the way Akiva taught her on the first day. With all of her equipment cleaned Dana laid on the marble slab and inhaled as the mint and eucalyptus. If she hadn't just killed four imps, she'd be able to pretend this was a day at the world's best spa. Maybe moments or hours later, Dana couldn't tell how time passed when she wasn't in the other realm. She felt the steam recede.
Her clothes returned to their pristine ivory and gold. Folded and stacked her weapons and wedges sat on the top of the box she placed them in for purification. Fully dressed and armed, Dana left the room. Keshia, Amy, Erin, and Jasmine smiled.
Keshia hugged Dana first.
"Alright, let's go to this meeting." Dana exhaled.
"We're here. Akiva brought us nectar from heaven and new clothes like you." Eliana twirled around in a toned down version of Dana's outfit in turquoise and ivory.
"Isn't that swell, matching outfits." Dana shrugged. "Where is he? I have work to do."
"This is true, Dara."Akiva appeared from thin air. Seemed you never knew when or where he'd pop out. "Come, the food is ready, and I must prepare you for your assignment."
"My name is Dana, we've been here all this time, I'd think you'd remember it by now." Dana crossed her arms.
Akiva shook his head.
"What do you mean?" Dana shook her head with a faux peaceful look on her face like.
"Those were your previous identities Dana, Erin, Keshia, Jasmine, and Amy are dead. You're Dara, Eliana, Jeula, Athalia, and Kefira. With your new roles in the war come new identities. Those old names carry pain. The boss wants you to have new identities." Akiva smiled.
"I liked my old identity, what kind of name is Dara?" Dana rolled her neck and crossed her arms.
"Your name means compassion and pearl of wisdom. You'll understand why we gave you that name as you become acquainted with your charge on Earth." Akiva motioned for Dana to sit next to her twin.
"Compassion and wisdom, for some charge." Dana sat. "I'm listening."
"You're all going back to Earth. You'll be different than before and how you are when you're here. On Earth, you'll be adults.
Your jobs will keep you connected, but you'll not be able to acknowledge your familial ties unless you're in the spirit realm. Dara, your charges name is Glitter. You have to return her to her family. They have been asking for her." Akiva said.
