You can’t stop with admission though, you have to take the first step to change your response to emotional changes in life. Instead of eating to stuff down negative or celebrate happy emotions find another way to express your feelings. While many emotional eaters do so because they are depressed or worried, there are also happy eaters.  A happy occasion can be celebrated with a walk in the park, writing a commemorative poem, taking a picture and even blogging about how you feel during the moment.
